FAQ

Q. Do I Qualify?

A. Juber is for Jewish adults, ages 16 thru 26, who have had limited Jewish education.

Q. What Can I Learn and How Often?

A. Torah, Talmud, Jewish philosophy, mysticism, marriage, Shabbat, the holidays...the sky's the limit! Study with your partner once a week either for a half-hour or an hour.

Q. Wait - I Get Paid to Learn?!

A. Yep—apart from walking away with an expanded understanding of just about any Jewish topic of your choosing, you'll walk away with $15 for one 30-minute session or $25 for a 60-minute session.

Q. Do I Have to Learn In-Person?

A. Nope, no need to drive (or take an Uber!) anywhere. While you can learn in-person with your partner, there's no need—feel free to WhatsApp, Facetime or the like.

Q. Who Runs the Program?

A. Juber is run by Rabbi Dovid Wachs. Rabbi Wachs, one of the original founders of Philadelphia's Etz Chaim Center for Jewish Studies (a forerunner of the newly created Aish Chaim), is well-known in the Philadelphia Jewish community. Although Rabbi Wachs stepped down from his position as Etz Chaim's Executive Director in 2017, he continues to engender a love of Judaism and Torah through his weekly classes at Aish Chaim and at Ahavas Torah.

Q. Are There Any Other Programs I Should Know About?

A. Absolutely! Juber Philly is a project of Aish Chaim. Check out Aish Chaim's website for many more inspiring programs and events. If you choose, Juber Philly can easily be the beginning of a life-time of continued learning and connection with your Jewish heritage!

Q. I'm In! What's the Quickest Way to Start?

Q. Who Should I Ask if I Have Any Questions?

A. Feel free to e-mail Rabbi Binyomin Davis (Aish Chaim's Director) any time! He's ready to answer all your questions about the program.
